"VZW still has a lot of call centers in NC, SC, AL, and FL. Relatively new ones too.:

This means nothing. They spend millions renovating in Wallingford only to close 1 year later.

Once heard a fella refer to them as Right to Slave States. Thought it was appropriate. And now they're spreading beyond the deep South.

Call centers in right to work states are the safest. It's much more difficult for unions to organize there, management likes right to work states.

Also...VZW has NO UNION to contend with on their wireless call centers. The worker is at the mercy and whim of whatever the executives want. Guess what they want? Cheaper labor! ATT is unionized in their wireless centers. As a union member at Verizon we tried to get u all to see the other side. Now only side you are gonna see is the company...and it won't be in your best interest. Not gloating, just telling it like it is.

"You post that as if you know that is a certainty, are you speculating? As someone who has a spouse who works in the call center could you indicate if it is reliable info or just your gut feeling?"

Do some research on Ronan Dunne and his history of outsourcing. When I left in 2015 VZW was already outsourcing over 50% of all calls and were bringing on 2 overseas vendors. The writing is on the wall.

The next move is to cut to 12, then 6, then none.

All 3 have completed their last day. Having previously worked at a call center, the feeling is always your center will be the next to go.
