In my area it seems they are "right sizing" the staff in COR, meaning fewer employees per store than before. My thought is that when the time comes to close a store or sell it to Authorized Retail, surrounding stores can then absorb those employees easily. You will always have normal attrition which will bring staffing levels back down to normal soon enough. No severance, and no union battle needed.

It's already been said that they will transition to a workforce that is 60% PT. The question is if they will or can force union employees to make a change to PT if they are unwilling. We currently have a new contract that runs through 2019, it would be tough to force someone out of that.

I wonder if T is pushing to somehow look good on paper, short term, to help push the TW deal through?

Another example of T management only planning very short term.

It fits with the idea that the people who do the work are just pegs you plug in to temporary hole, not actually living breathing people with families.

I heard that FT Retail Sales Consultants and Assistant Manager positions (Entertainment Group) will be cut by 10 - 20%. The FT (Full Time) positions will be replaced by PT (Part Time) employees. Funny, upper management doesn't understand the PT positions will work up to FT hours (if not over)...they always have and will continue to do so....what a mess! BTW, this info came from a Director of Sales in a market as well as a Regional Director of Sales Execution.

More details please.

It is common practice for management to try to divide the workforce by pitting FT against PT and dumping on strong union people.
