Good luck HPES? Wow, really?

As someone who has worked for both i don't agree with you. CSC was (definitely past tense) really had a consulting feel to it and isn't married to peddling HP vapour ware / and second rate hardware, let alone sell the shambles that was Helion. CSC accounts are leaner, with less execs adding no value and fun places to be (generally).

Both firms have zero interest in their people and I would say both are as brutal as the other with the lay off axe.

Putting my cards on the table I started planning my exit from CSC the moment the merger was confirmed. End date 28th Feb thank god. I have read the HP style comms over the last few months and knew the writing was on the wall. Start new job with a non US SME on March 1st.

My advice to folks in both companies is plan your exit right now.

Why cry? Nobody cares about the US employee. Let India have those IT jobs. They will all be replaced by automation one day anyhow.

Fight back and re-educate in a field that can't be outsourced. These jobs require someone to physically be present - onsite - and cannot be performed remotely. Best yet, jobs that require US Citizenship.

  • Government work requiring access to sensitive data or security clearances

  • Police/Security work that cannot be filled by H1B visas

  • Any medical specialty that cannot be replaced by or sent via network to India for completion such as: billing, xray reading, labs, diagnostics, etc.. - (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Doctor, Medical Assistant, Dentist, Dental Assistant, etc...)

  • Construction (Electrical, Framing, Roofing, Painting, Landscaping, Plumbing, etc..)

  • Commercial/Residential Repair (Air Conditioning, Mechanic, etc..)

  • Real Estate (On-site Property Appraiser, Real Estate Agent, Investor/Flipper)

You get the idea... If it can be performed over the internet or over a networked connection by someone sitting in India, Malaysia, China, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Costa Rica, Philippines, Puerto Rico, etc... then it will.

If it is a job that H1B visas can be imported to perform, the employer will bring them.

The US government does not care at all about the people or whether it's citizens work. Only you can protect yourself.

Yeah if you don't count some stuff you get a different answer. #alternativefacts

Whoever is in charge, the tactics wont change. Moving from EDS to HP was like trading a BMW for a Ford. Moving from there to CSC is like trading again for a Datsun.

Reading comprehension fail! Eric Harmon is also reporting directly to Lawrie. And 4 of the 6 Offering Managers that report directly to Lawrie are HPE as well. It's much closer to 50/50, especially if you don't count HR, General Counsel, CIO, and CFO since HPE isn't spinning those off.

I was surprised it was so few. All of Lawrie's direct reports but Nefkens are CSC.
