there are 4 quarters in the year, the absolute last day to notify a worker that they will be surplus is sixty days before the end of the quarter, see how this aligns with 1/27? Most of your answered are already in the threads that go back for a few years now.
Before you call bullsh1t go and take a look at the threads here and over at Verizon to see how the wheels turn on this machine.
That is likely the Legacy AT&T wireline folks in the overlapped DorecTV tech areas. DTV techs will be kept over AT&T legacy in most cases because the DTV guys are cheaper.
