Be very very careful on accepting any offer. Check to see what the medical offer is and if eligible what the money will be. Also if older you will loose all medical and be forced to the "market"
Pre 1999 employees MAY get retirement but none after.

Wait, how about, waiting for the layoff, get severance, filing unemployment and after you get your fair share All L these years working , retire comfortably, and never look beach this sh-- hole, don't forget to join class action suit if is initiated by th dept of justice, for those who were retaliated against, life is good
Definitely wait for severance if you think it might be coming relatively soon. Then when you get your separation date file your papers to retire on that day. Get both severance payment and retirement benefits.

More power to you If you can function in this poisoned environment, I've had enough after almost two decades here...even though I'm just short of that "full" age. It's become a zombie land all around...tough to see and hear people around willing to say/do whatever it takes hoping to avoid being thrown out on the street (they'll be anyway). This formerly iconic brand has been severely damaged in the last few years.
