Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

California Bound?

I found out that TX staff were being asked to go to California for 12 weeks and needed answers by 1/3/17. Reason given: extra help needed for allegedly bad weather coming up. Areas specifically identified: LA, San Fran and San Diego. I'm impressed that AT&T has that ability to forecast weather down to specific cities. However, my BS alarm is going crazy. Anyone else?

Loaners from other states should not be coming to California to help out!.... specially during contract negotiations when the company is offering crap contract!!

They asked techs from Ohio to go to CA also this week.. This is nothing unusual. We've gone out there due to bad weather several times.

Remember when going from Texas to California you have to report your time as working in California and pay State Income Tax to California for all the hours you worked there.......

Happens all the time. They had volunteers in California when the El Nino was scheduled to hit last year too. T has priorities and non of them are rehabbing any part of the old plant to survive even California rain, they would rather pay a few weeks extra pay.
