Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

DXC Position, will my benefits, Short Term Disability (STD) etc be different from HPE?

I've been told I will have a role in the DXC company in April, currently in HPE. I need to have a surgery early summer and after 4+ Years (HP then HPE) I need to use Short Term Disability summer 2017 for about 6 week recovery time; to use STD at HPE have to have 1 year employment with the company,

Once with DXC in April 2017, does the clock start over for using STD and eligible vacation days etc? With 4years now at HP & HPE, will I be considered a "new" employee at DXC, with only a few months at that company as of Summer 2017 and not eligible for STD?

All of the benefits will remain the same until next year. Per the current policy, you are covered for 6 weeks at 100% and then at 70% for up to 26 weeks. Go online in the benefits and compensation page and it will direct you to the current policy. I have a procedure coming up myself and I called and researched to find out the truth. I hope this helps.

Just a heads up, if you have a YSA card and are planning on using it for your copays or coinsurance for your surgery while you're on STD, you'll be required to pay it all back. I recently found out the hard way that you can't, but they don't even tell you that, you just end up with a bill for everything.

Your employment will be continuous. Your benefits should be too.

No doubt they will try to screw us over eventually, for example in the UK HP lined their benefits package with the EDS one by paying the lower EDS car allowance and the lower HP mileage rate to everyone so we all lost out.

Everything Ive read about Lawrie suggests he'll be looking to show us who is boss too. But on day 1 it should all be the same
