Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Interviewing is very different these days.

All recruiters (outside headhunters) are from India. All the calls are from Indian names. 99% of upper hiring managers are from India. The diversity is not there anymore in the valley. Don't mind this but when finding the right fit is really hard.

Surely unless your name is something like "Galegenoh" or "Hiawassee" then all 'Murican names are foreign?

Yes, I agree. I keep getting interview requests with Indian names. I'd like some diversity please!

"investors dumb enough to not remember the late 1990s"

In the late 1990s I had the pleasure of having a conversation with one of the Sand Hill Road VCs. I kept talking about customers and value and such. He just kept saying "You don't get it do you". I sure found out in the early 2000's and again in 2008.

There must be some monopoly going on. I also put my resume on a job board and all the calls and emails are from people with Indian names. Uggh!! Might as well move to the midwest or something.

Silicon Valley is actually a giant money laundering operation with very little actual value being created. It's one of the reasons Indians have taken over so much of the work as there is very little chance to monetize the output of their labor with actual products. The VCs and underwriters skim huge profits from the merger or IPO and leave a burning bag of dog p--p to investors dumb enough to not remember the late 1990s..

Yes, especially for women. Might be a bit of a challenge.
