There is a lot more to this company than just Retail! Any news on the wireline side, as far as future surpluses or layoff rumors?? And if so, which departments and locations?

Folks, age has nothing to do with it. How you've performed has nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter if you've been there 5 days or 25 years. When they cut a department, even the directors have no input. It's all about the numbers, either the entire department is gone or whatever percentage. At that point they're only going by your employee ID. And forget finding a job internally. It happens, but it is very rare, and I've heard of several that uprooted their families to move to a new city only to be cut again in a few months. Best to cut the cord and get away from this joke of a company. If you survive this cut, you will be exposed at the next one. Do you really want to continue to live like that?
FMLA in Southwest no longer much of an issue since they limited it to ten paid days
Wrong. 25 years and under are the ones who will be safe. Get ready old timers.
If you have over 20 years you are safe, everyone else ready to R&R
Louisville and Nashville will stay in the SE. Not sure about others.
@LSXxNb4-1vof when you say Southwest, which center are you referring to?
Wireline/uverse/retention/Telco centers should be looking for other jobs. Top call centers in the Southeast are Atlanta and Miami.. they will stay. Southwest is is lethargic and riddled with FMLA issues. The only centers that will probably stay open are San Antonio, El Paso, Houston and Kirkwood. I'm shocked that California is still around.
Surplus declarations every quarter like clock work for the past 10 years
?More ?Joining many of those surplused with last day on payroll after Christmas:, ETs in CSPC, continuous exodus of domestic wholesale PMs, other managers.....
ENO SE in Atlanta currently has 13 Tech Support folks who support technicians in the field for resolving network troubles. They were told back in the 2016QTR4 that 8 of the 13 would be surplused. The 8 were told yesterday at 10AM. I hate to see any of those folks go. Good Luck to all!
Yes, it is a big company with many parts.
I agree
