I personally like the idea of having a new seat every day.
The reason being is the Walmart brand of Depends that I buy leak. I get the cheapest ones I can buy, but they are all made overseas. I guess the quality just isn't there yet.
So I'm going to enjoy sitting a new clean seat everyday. The H1B people are more then welcome to sit in my old seats.
The only thing missing is music playing over the PA. When the music stops, grab a chair.
If you can not find a chair, Upper Management plays Kick the Can.
What will all of those employees do with their over decorated cubes. Take all that junk home and leave it there.
the concept of a personal desk is dying. You can have your space, and the expectation that you set up shop for a day, but it may not be the same place you are going to be tomorrow.
My colon can feel the synergies indeed
Gross! The germs! The nasty, dirty, smelly co-workers! Just gross!
Change Energizers You ... including changing seats on a daily basis.
And the change the execs are looking for is for you all to quit .... so Lowell and friends can pocket your severance.
It's only going to get worse.
This is the sort of philosophy at work throughout the entire company. "Changing the culture" indeed. When they tell you they are "changing the culture" you better lookout for a Big Red Shaft coming your way.
The people that came up with this fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down. Fact is, VZ has started a long slow death spiral and this idiotic and clueless move is just one of many signs. Crap like this that might work for a start up with a dozen employees simply does not work at large established operations. Startups and executing companies have entirely different needs.
This has nothing to do with collaboration, but forcing more people into a building. On a given day only 80% of people are actually at their desks. So what if they had no permanent desk? Then you could assign even more people to the building.
Some A-- hole in real estate sold this and none of the zombies in management cared about the productivity hit. It's easier to treat employees like expenses than assets it seems.
@obw - who is the loser that sits there and assigns seats to everyone? Is that an actual job? Verizon is finding new ways to bring everyone down - way to go leadership!
This setup is also in Richardson, TX, It blows. We get "assigned" to a different seat every day. You read that correctly, we check in to work and then are escorted to our spot for the day. Horrible idea, nothing will come out of this except pissed off employees, and maybe some upskirt vids,
No more cubicles to promote open space collobaration of ideas (and germs) This has been implemented in Bedminster, NJ over the past yr
@OP....When did you post this ? India or USA time zone ?
Yes, specially when I am in the bat romm brake
Obvious troll is obvious
I don't fully understand this, beside FTE = Full Time Employee. What group is this? Is this something impacting remote employees? Have to work at the office? I don't get it sorry.
