Has anyone heard of more layoffs to come in the 2nd quarter? Particularly in regards to techs and routing coordinators?

Clarification- "work product being used months after I left"
It's ok, because obviously I don't have any rights to it (u sign those away) but some of my work buddies were amazed that I was gone so long and my stuff was still being presented.
2vcc is absolutely right. I was a detractor but I also was high performing. I was surplused a few months ago. Guess what, my work product and design was being used for months.
I pissed my director off (my AM gave me high ratings and tried to get me a job on my last surplus day) it was too late.
I had an offer on day 20 - 50k more. Life is good. I hate what happened to me. Because many times layoffs are personal as my general counsel cousin reminds me.
But like it was written, start looking. Don't sell yourself short and be mindful that being passionate and good at ur job (esp. when you present great ideas) will piss the WRONG leader off.
If you find a good opportunity elsewhere go for it. I know many are hanging out for the severance but you don't know how long that will last. Makes no sense to be miserable and under so much stress wondering your fate at att- not healthy. Especially if you are an honest hard worker. I no longer work for ATT but I know people who are still there and they are lazy, dishonest and lack all integrity. The ones that left or are leaving are the ones most companies are looking for. And when I say are leaving I mean by surplus as I have heard suggested on this site many times. If you're good and speak up you are probably on the list. Att doesn't want smart people who challenge whatever 'system' they've got there these days. Good luck to all.
Common sense tells me that the company will be laying off right around 25,000 workers per year up to 2020. ATT said itself that they aim to get rid of 1/3 of their workforce by 2020. You know they are not going to just cut 100,000 people in 2020. I truly believe that 2020 will actually be more like 2018 or 2019, so it's a real possibility that we will have even more layoffs per year.
I don't think anyone really knows.
There WILL be layoffs every single quarter, and it will involve hundreds if not thousands of people across the country and across all departments. This is not a company to be making a career at. A temporary job at best.
Mobility Provisioning had a layoff announced January 3rd 2017 and people were just notified if they were laid off or not. They will not comment on the number of people they have laid off.
Someone said layoffs every 3-6 months? So are we "safe" for a few months since the 1st quarter is almost done? Anyone know when the next round will start?
Edge is the new program that they're trying out to replace the existing routing system. It's probably cheaper than keeping what is already being used.

We are becoming obsolete by financial resons, If you currently have pension plan and if you are in the top salary bracket for your position , you officially have a target on your back, the new replacements will have non of those
Quarterly layoffs seems the normal routine for att. A very different reality from directv.
Once the Edge program replaces the current system, I feel like they will eliminate a ton of jobs. It supposedly cranks up next year but some techs are already using it.
There will continue to be layoffs throughout the company every 3-6 months for a while to come.
It will go the way the indirect surplus went. First a large chunk and then a few months later BOOM.

There is a continuous surplus across the company and the various organizations year round. The HR rep said as much on the Surplus call this week. The variance is in the amount of the AWG. There are 200k+ employees...the stated goal is to reduce headcount. It's the one cost the company can control. As wireless just trades customers and prices decrease it's the solution. Uverse is dead. Landline is dead. I'm leaving, getting my severance after almost 2 decades. No ill will, I made the decision. It s---s to have to live in this cycle but it's the way of this business.
The surplus in two months is most likely the start of closing down our level one stores.
What positions
I had an ARSM slip up two days ago and say there is another surplus in two months.
