Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

SSR's at least in my market are pretty safe right now.

Most positions will go away through attrition (just won't be replaced when they leave). The only uncertain part is if stores start closing-then it will be base on seniority not by who likes you and who doesn't.

Roles will be changing and might be given more responsibility. Just remember you can only do what you can do. Try to nod and smile when they give you your new tasks.

There is never any such thing as "100% safe" in anything in life, let alone a job for any company. I hate layoffs, because most people are hard working, and in general, it's a bad thing for our country and economy. That being said, let me ask you this? How much time do you spend, while on the clock, on Facebook or watching video, or doing other non-work related tasks? If the answer is greater than 0%, then we know one reason why your job security isn't 100%. For example, if you spend 50% of your day on social media, then perhaps there is a 50% chance that you should or will keep your job. Hopefully it's < 5% of your work day though!

"Pretty Safe" is not 100% safe...
