Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It's kind of disappointing, the way that AT&T is treating employees who have literally given up their lives & time for this company!

It used to be an honor to say that you worked for AT&T now its just a "is the layoffs going to affect you as well?" It's so sad how a lot of us were once very proud to wear that globe.

Now that same globe doesn't give a crap about us.

Yes, I understand that it's all business but it still isn't fair. Life isn't fair.

Praying for everyone who is or will be affected.

They keep preaching integrity and honesty, making us take classes on it, when they don't understand the meaning of those words. Lies and deceit. They rob hard working people out of their jobs because they are bleeding subscribers but instead of fixing the problem, it's much "easier" to cut down labor.

AT&T, as a customer and a former employee, is a horribly run company. Middle management brown noses looking up and craps on everyone below them. They don't promote smart self thinking people, they promote those who are easily manipulated, cannot think for themselves, and have no spines. They are drones.

AT&T doesn't give a rat's a-- about it's employees, though they claim they are a family. Everyone is just a number and regardless of performance, you can get let go annually. Reorganizations, surpluses, whatever they want to call it.

DO NOT WORK FOR THEM. THE AMOUNT OF b---s--- IS OFF THE CHARTS.

I worked as a Store manager for at&t for 15 years. 3 years ago I saw the writing on the wall and worked on my exit strategy. I had a feeling and still do that retail stores will be gone in the next 5 years or so. It was hard to leave because they brainwash you and pay just enough to keep you there. There is life outside at&t. I've never regretted leaving them. Good luck to everyone affected by the layoffs

DL was sorry! All of that money could've went elsewhere. The thing about T is, they always have to try to have their hands in something or push it out to say that they're the first who did it! Def should've invested in their home internet. 12MB in my area from T but 100MB from Comcast...& no I don't want to hear the "but you share with someone else." I'd rather share 100MB than to have a measly 12MB by myself.

DL was a HUGE failure....

The only reason they got into it was because VZ was doing it and they didn't want to lose out of the home security market, which is pointless.

The problem is at&t' is forgetting that they are a telecommunications company and trying to focus on entertainment and other stupid things. While I understand the DTV was a decent buy, they should of tried and focused on expanding their network and 5G systems and try and get home intertnet at highspeed a reality.

At&t is a very reactive company, and that is also a problrm why they are losing subscribers. Instead of taking the bulls by the horn and trying to shape the industry they always try to follow the beat of someone elses drum.

They should of kept or brought back unlimited when VZ and even Tmobile were getting rid of it. THey should of lowered prices to be competitive and get ride of the fees everyone hates. While they were at it they could of kept contracts which they still have just labled differently.

This company is going down and it pisses me off because htey used to be so respected

T is done for. Wireless for T seems to be no more. Uverse..waste. Digital Life..waste. WHP..waste.

Directv is literally like the only thing holding it in place, & of course if the Time Warner deal goes through. Other than that, T is no longer the powerhouse that it used to be. Sad.

i have been with the company for nearly a decade and i too, have felt the same way about a company who has helped me do so much with my time there. We were recently moved into a new territory under a new DOS who doesn't give a crap about our team and is ONLY letting our team go. Whoever isn't getting surplussed this time around have been receiving CAPS, PIPs, or is already fired at this point. We have given so much for the company and ever since T lost the Iphone to other major providers, i could tell that it was the beginning of the end. The endless sales of worthless WHP and DL and not to mention shady sales reps who always had gone and shoved worthless garbage down peoples throats just to prop up the stock price. DTV Now has been a great seller, but its just another band aid on this worthless T stock price. 2017 is where T loses a good percentage of its stock value and will go down the tubes. If its true, i feel bad for the sales reps in the future. The future looks pretty bleak at T.
