Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

DIRECTV and NBC

So at the last minute with no notice, ATT/DTV has dropped NBC programming. So no access to the Sunday night NFL game. Maybe the NFL should weigh in about all the tv revenue they lost because of ATT corporate greed.

Do people seriously not understand how who owns the content sets the price and when it's too high the consumer pays more? I mean, pull your head out here. Stop talking if you don't know how things work. I'm in agreement with the poster who spoke of the TV stations demanding so much money that if AT&T didn't fight back, there would be even more and higher increases in what the consumer pays. Stop calling AT&T and DIRECTV and call whoever owns your locals and such. It's ridiculously simple. If we don't own the content, we can't broadcast without a contract to do so. If we pay more, you pay more.

Shouldn't T have anticipated this? I'm sure NBC is only the beginning.

The TV stations are demanding more $$$$$$$$$$ from DirectTV and ATT to broadcast their (FREE-Over the air) transmission. ATT fighting back so they don't have to raise the rates. Trust me -- I'm no fan of the conglomerate ATT (Anxiety-- Tension -- & TERMINATION). But its the greed of the television on this ..

Hahahahaha! I am even more happier not to be working for T now. I'm sure those customers who switched from cable to Direct TV to save some bucks are regretting that choic now.

If you call in to complain they begin to upsale you to their satellite bundles hell they may even create an install just for phoning in that's how sleezy T is. DIRETV now was never meant to be an actual long term product but rather a way to collect new customer info specifically on millennials who would other wise never bother to contact att. It's literally a very sofisticated phishing scheme to later upsale these cord cutters when like many of their other "innovations" they stop supporting.
