Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Walmart

I was shopping Walmart yesterday and found it interesting when the cashier, after asking me to complete a survey, stated " it will help my quarterly bonus". I know Walmart has made some changes in their pay structure and employee appreciation programs. I'm really starting to see a difference at our local store. It's amazing what valid appreciation does for a teams morale.

If your employees are a liability then maybe you need to take at how you hire, how you develop your team and your culture.

Employees are liabilities. Why value them. If it wasn't for employees, our lives would be so much easier! Employees are in charge of their own destiny. Appreciated or not they're paid to do a job. They should simply shut up and do as their told (or at least do what we should be telling them to do). At the end of the day, they can find other work (if they don't like it here). However, since they've stayed this long, they're very damaged or are otherwise unemployable. Yet more reasons not to respect them.

This is basic management 101. Treat employees with respect and reap the rewards of a dedicated, committed work force. Treat them poorly and you will fail. Taken a look at the financials lately, and you will be able to predict how Follett treats its employees.
