I was RIF'd in December 2015. At that time, there were many folks that were allowed to stay and continue to work in satellite locations. I've heard that during the 2016 call center closures anyone working in these locations is impacted even HQ folks. I'm curious what will happen to employees left in remote locations. I've heard varying things to them being safe to them being told they must relocate. What's the real story?

Everyone laid off can go work for Sprint. Although, they will get laid off during the merger of Sprint and T Mobile. Good Luck!

Time for Wireless to UNIONIZE.
If a call center closes and there is nothing left but a few remote employees, I would imagine they would need to relocate to another office. Why would they keep a building open for a few people. And very unlikely Verizon would allow work from home 100% of the time.

It's true that with the center closures announced a few months ago the HQ employees must relocate. Have a few friends in Rochester impacted. A handful of exec relations were spared but that's about it.
