What does it mean when 87 out of 292 employed access cards stopped working? Layoff?? We cannot get in the building unless the guard opens for us. I have only been working there for about 6 months. I am concerned for my job.

Managers get an email every year to renew your access, not only to buildings but also to all applications you use. This happens a lot during the holidays, managers go on vacation and "forget" to renew your access. (I hate to say it, but yes, there are managers that get the email and have no idea what to do with it, so they just ignore it)
At&T cards do not use that old technology, SMH
Sometimes the cards just get demagnetized, and have to be replaced. It's just a pain in the a-- to have to h!ave someone open the door to let you in each time
May be the idiot in charge does not know how to update them, quite possible
Access can be turned back on very easily. I do find it curious that guards are opening doors and there isn't further explanation about why access is not available. One hour is a mistake - several days might be a process/personnel change.
It means nothing more than someone forgot to update the access records. If you get let go, they'll make absolute sure you know.
People are so phucking paranoid that when their access card doesn't work they think they're being laid off......AT&T has become a peeping round the corner joke!
Dumb managers , what a concept!!, but reality all over this company, funny
You re a dumb a--. Your manager forgot to approve your annual badge access.
Why anyone would work for AT&T, zero career mobility , no clear path , no identity
Which facility are you at?
