I started with the company this year and I already hear that we may have redundancies and job cuts in Dallas.

A few years ago, T stated there will be layoffs every year. As a new hire, you are sort of protected for 1 year. But I would leave T if you are young. Way, way back in the day (1980s and 1990s), employees were told not to expect the implied contract. Then came the Hay studies, and that idiot Harvard Professor who invented "rightsizing". In short, know that in this day and age there is no such thing as job security. This applies even if you are exempt or union. Just know there is no such thing as job security.
I also heard there was going to be a layoff on my first day on the job.......in 1995.
No kidding, its just the way the company does business. Rumors just rumors. My advice is don't listen. When your manager makes an official announcement ... listen. Otherwise it is just a rumor
This company is a joke, collect your paycheck as long as you can, there is not a single person that can forecast career expectations anymore, soon al, will be Indian working remotely
