thanks for the update. that sounds like it might be credible. how is the attendance at the center? Since people still get paid to not show up for work in the purple agreement, there are other centers being looked at as well.
An Area Manager has confirmed there are talks with Director to close but anything can change.
So who is saying Joplin is going to close? A team leader? an area manager? a director? someone higher? or perhaps a couple of reps talking to each other? I hate to rip on all of the rumors but I hear them all of the time and from a variety of sources. I routinely have to pick apart how likely they are based on how high up the food chain the information comes from. Here is a tip: is your source for this information in a position to know? Better yet, ARE THEY THE ONE MAKING THE DECISION OR HAVE THEY SPOKEN TO THE ONE MAKING THE DECISION?
Joplin will most likely close this year. Lease is up At the end if October so a Q2 announcement seems likely.

Still waiting to know mobility call center is closing 12/27 showing 700 people the door.
The prior linked references Goldsboro who is stated at 100 and closing because of building damage.
There are no plans to close all mobility call centers by April.

If not true than why did they just report a call center in NC closing in Dec?? This IS absolutely true...
who. keeps. bringing. this. up? never an attribution as to where it came from. A 3rd line director somewhere? your good friend, a 5th line VP? Mobility is a small part of the company. A little over 40,000 and pulling down over half the money. the only reason we have to keep call centers in the united states is that NO ONE want to speak to call center overseas. Period. So please, share any single piece of information to show this is not just made up. thanks!

Trump can't bring jobs back to America, he first has to learn what a US president does and piece this huge puzzle together. He has a ton of bubble heading coming up and trust me, it will not come in our favor.

Corporation should be taxed heavy for outsourcing our jobs. There should be no profit incentive to lay off American workers and move work overseas.
Trump can impact production job, moving reps overseas is not a production job like building cars or phones so don't think Trump is going to stop T from moving rep jobs overseas.
@KqNGHKD-2vec: actually if you were on the investor conference call yesterday like I was you would've heard the CFO cite Trump as the main reason they tabled their idea to move to Mexico in 2019. I much rather get my facts from the horses mouth than some biased news organization.
Trump had Nothibg to do with ford not moving that particular Dept to Mexico. Ford was trying to make room to build more vehicles in the USA at that factory. They found the room and decided to keep the jobs here. Read a paper or listen to the news for pity sake. Too much BS on this site.
Every month, there seems that I see and equally prevalent, though less noticed, the steady stream of "stealth layoffs", methodically shedding smaller numbers of people jut like me, so quietly that often many in our company aren't even aware is happening under the radar. That is why sites such as layoff.com brings a light to a very disturbing trend, "It's bad publicity for sure for the company if these news were all over the net"
The big difference in Ford and T is the # of people let go in a location. A plant closing and moving gets attention. Laying off 50 people over here and another 50 over there, spread across the country every couple of months doesn't grab the same media attention.
@2bph: Ford planned to move one of their factories to Mexico in 2019 but after a call with Trump that's not happening.
