Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employee sat Tanks. No surprise.

Spent four hours in a grueling HR meeting going over predictive modeling to create action plans for each VP/BU. Bottom line management employee satisfaction hit rock bottom within the entertainment group and subsidiary holdings. Going over the list one vp named Torres had the all time lowest recorded tracking scores identified for employee satisfaction ever reported by Hqs cutting across all mergers and acquisitions going back to 2005 when SBC acquired T. Let that soak in a minute. It was highlighted in the review as a sign of a bad people integration. Usually when that happens they're asked to leave soon or be reassigned. Global Marketing had the best results. Otherwise, Business, Finance, Network also had lower scores vs previous year across most segments. Some groups are already discussing the scores. Considering the layoffs most of the ELT is not overly concerned, In the EG group Stankey will have additional human performance pressures to resolve. Would you recommend T to a friend seeking employment?

I worked pretty high up in network infrastructure and I can tell you for fact everyone's keystrokes are not recorded. They do record the keystrokes of the Tier 1 people, though. If you're Tier 2 or above, they don't because the data would be worthless and AT&T has nowhere to store it anyway.

The NPS surveys...I was always a meets and exceeds until I started blasting my leadership through NPS. I've seen the reports they get on the surveys...you're not identified by name or number, but it's not hard to figure out who said what through context.

I was surplussed and now make 3 times what I did at AT&T doing much more challenging work. Life is much better now.

Since I am surplussed anyways, would love to change my NPS responses.

The implications are huge for all players in the sector. That includes DirecTV and its parent company, AT&T, which will likely see their combined 25.3 million video subscriber base cannibalized to some extent by practically tempting its own subs to shift to the cheaper package. The strategy demonstrates that the telco is willing to suffer short-term pain to establish a pole position in the rapidly changing over-the-top marketplace, Now is not the first so-called “skinny bundle” to come along. This new category has already seen consumers’ relatively muted reception of Dish Network’s Sling TV and Sony’s PlayStation Vue. Nor will these offerings be the last: More OTT entrants will be storming the gates in the months ahead, bringing more lower-cost opportunities for consumers to forgo traditional pay TV.

I don't think there is a right or wrong nps strategy. If staying under the radar with your mouth shut works for you-work that angle (though there is ultimately an emotional and physical (and even long term financial price to pay). If you see the writing on the wall and you're actively looking and know your number is up - blast away - with the knowledge you could be targeted.

Things always have a way of righting themselves in the end. Having awareness in your choices keeps you awake.

Other poster was right....last 7-10 years when sbc bought the T things went downhill fast! Can't take much more BS from this place....they get to everyone sooner or later to try to break your spirit. Actively looking to work someplace else soon that treats people right and I can look forward to going to work everyday not getting sick by having to go in!

AT&T records every keystroke an employee makes. If you think you're anonymous, you deserve to be fired for being dumb as a rock. I NEVER completed one of those surveys.

Rock bottom nps scores ???

I'm surprised people felt comfortable enough to express dissatisfaction. I guess when done en masse your inherently protected. I and two others meets and exceeds performers weee targeted when we spoke out against the director (who was replaced but not before lashing out on the surplus charts).

am tried to save us, but too late. We all landed 30-50k more other places. Karmic justice. But still embarrassing

That is against company policy, no one owes anything to the company, but a shorter life span due to the toxic work environment, If a job only pays your bills, it’s robbing you! The right job pays your bills and grows your flame. Working at the right job your mojo grows every day. You keep learning and you build up the people around you, who build you up in turn, something non existent in this company for te last 7 years

It's clear there's only 1 reason for eNPS and that's to identify and surplus the "detractors". If you're not a promoter then buh bye.
