Stock was at $43+ few monts back, now the pattern seems to be heading to the $35 mark, why is this? Wasn't DTV A success ?

Based on the news, the stock market is very nervous about the direction ATT is moving to. An all wireless company will mean many US employees will be laid off and no matter how the ATT leadership try to spin the story, people on Wall street don't believe them. Announced plans to drop all wireline will mean much completion for the remaining wireless market and that means ATT will concentrate on non US markets like the Mexico market recently entered.

Will people believe the direction? Based on the posts here there will always be those who wont.

The markets view the Time Warner thing as generally unfavorable and among those that view if favorably, the opinion is that it won't be allowed to happen. Also, general consensus seems to be that T would be considerably overpaying.

It will get worse. In the fog of the TW deal dying, randy will start to throw stuff on the wall to see what sticks.

Desperate times.

I hate to say this, because att was once a great company. But the stock was largely propped up on the second coming of "something" and a heap full of spin doctoring along with Randall's dog and pony shows.

Problem is that no one could define or sweet talk enough what that "something" was.

5g, ott, content,etc... this is an innovation problem and buying things you don't know how to leverage.

At last the veil is lifting.
