@2uct.....ref: 11/17: You "Won't" be surprised with what you can hear / learn in the Basking Ridge cafeteria from all the young wanna-bees trying to make a name for themselves be claiming to know more than anyone else.
I was just RIFd a little over a week ago (2 months notice). I hear they are doing the 60 vs. 30 since it is around holiday time.
Still wouldn't surprise me if the do more.
what is LTSD??
Wireline will be forced into another LTSD the week after thanks giving. Already decided at the VP level.
This is why they extended the Viewpoints Survey to Nov 11. The malcontents needed to be identified.
What is the source for Nov 17th? Heard it from your management or peers- can you share? Thanks
November 17 are layoffs for it in vz and vzw. Get ready! EUS/CTS included.
11/17, off 12/31. IT.
dwq, (the first response), you are incorrect. The notice period of 30 days (or 60 in some cases) applies to when they actually terminate you, not when you get notice of the termination. So can they RIF you in November ? Absolutely. You can be told your job is being eliminated at ANY time. But you will be on payroll for at least the next 30-60 days from the time they tell you.
Nov 17
Personally I think McDumba$$ is done for the year. But come 2017, more heads will roll for sure!
It would be pay week which is the 18th, office is closed on 25th...for wireline
These may not be exact dads but be assured someone will be laid off before the year is out....
Not true...you have to give at least 30 days notice for a rif....a voluntary buyout would be different if that's what is being offered but I highly doubt that as well...
