Shift bids

This question is for Directv legacy call centers that have been transitioned to the ATT shift bid schedules. How does it work? Is it something to worry about?

AFAIK, seniority only. And I think the center hours changed a little, like instead of 0545-2300, only open till 2200.

Oh, what metrics are used besides seniority for shift bids?

Thanks for the feedback. I have been with Directv for a good while. Did they change the call center hours?

Many CSRs have ended up with schedules that are not the same every day -- let's say you work Tues-Sat. You may have 30 minute lunch on 3 of those days, and 60 minute lunch on two, and either your start or stop time will move to make up the extra 30 minute lunch.

I used to work for a DSL call center. You can bid for the shift you desire, but probably will not get it depending on your seniority. Be prepared for wacky shift scheduling, and changes that you never asked for. When you do inquire about your shift bid results, you will just be told that your schedule is based on "the needs of the business."

Nothing to worry about, unless you are low seniority. Then you can look forward to working holidays and weekends.
