Google fiber was paying $ 80 an hour in the southeast for fibre splicers, I don't think T is in this range

You want an example? You pay for goods and services wherever you go. A union provides the service of collective bargaining and has the right to collect dues for their services. If you are a union member and want to freeload by not paying your dues (right to work), than leave your job and let someone who is grateful for higher wages and benefits have your job. It's a free country, at least until 01/01/17.

Just like the MegaCorporations have united their power behind entities like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce which shills for them, unions need to do the same. Unions need to form a U.S. Chamber of Unions under which all unions, from Teamsters to CWA to IBEW to others, can unite and share NATIONAL strategies. It's obvious CEO's of major corporations are just throwing darts at a backboard in a hit or miss strategy of providing America's much needed infrastructure such as telecommunicatons/Internet, highways and bridges, Electric grid, etc. We need better national leadership and union leaders can step up to the plate.

For less money? This is the kind of thinking that unions make members to believe, When was te last time this union people apply somewhere _ outside AT&T?, most titles largely underpaid by 30%

Those dues only are effective with 20+ seniority range, others members are wasting their money , specially in today's environment
I have 16 years of service(16 years of paying union dues)Approx $17,000. I do not feel the CWA has done anything but give our $ to the Democrat party and pay the union officers. Just think back over the years-MSOC/2% pay raises/increased cost of benefits/basing our bonus on the stock price instead of performance/telling us to vote for each contract because "it's the best we can do." In 16 years CWA has not called for 1 day of work stoppage to let AT&T know we mean business. They make it almost impossible to get out of the union. Folks wonder why Union membership is at an all time low.
CWA just does what ever corporate wants, but makes it sound likes it's a good idea. Such as the new internet services contract.
