Any workplace has issues and if the supervisor is showing favoritism based on her Muslim stuff then document it and go to HR. Panic will set in if you do a good job showing favoritism and other things wrong. If that dos not work then threat to call an outside lawyer and media and you will see HR move fast to correct the issues.

Racist/s-xist? Try working for a Muslim supervisor as a woman. It's very tough to prove, but all the plum projects go to ...you can guess it. The overt and direct name calling is easy, the subtle bias of cultural bias groups and cronies, is a whole other bandwagon. It does exist. But I've been on the MESA calls and AT&T made sure there is a diverse collection of people.
