They have laid off employees. They just go about it to keep the noise down. I know several. SWA pay is below par. I know they go for contractors in IT. They seem to be ok with subpar system performance as well. The incidents keep coming.

Union companies = good pay, good retirement benifits, happy employees

Someone I know just got hired at vz landline call center (union) started at $30/hr. That's a lot more then what I made my 6 years as a retail employee.

The biggest difference in leadership is vision. I retired and started with another company, in orientation the first line of this companies credo is, our most valuable asset is our people. And it's not just words, everyone here feels it. What a difference a carreer change makes.
