Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The future?

The store managers are thinking they can change the future of the corporate stores (the level 2 stores that is). When will we find out about the management that AT&T will be letting go and also about the future of stores that are not HQ, store of the future or flagship stores? Just wondering if it will be the week after Christmas! What a Christmas present that will be (sarcasm) especially seeing that the new year gives us vacation time.

Ask your ARSM and Director? Who are you kidding? They will only provide with scripted responses and never tell you the truth. Once the surplus winds start blowing the only response you will get is BAU.

When this happens, it will be beyond ARSM, DOS, AVP, VPGM or even RP. It will be President of Sales/Distribution and above.

why are you not asking your Director or ARSM what the plans are for your location? You could also ask what your PT/FT mix should be for your store and then work with your Hiring Partners? I know people love to post on this site to be negative - the most positive thing (for this post) - would be to open up the lines of communication (and TAKE NOTES)!!!!

Look on the Verizon board and you will see many similarities. Vz has COR ans AR, they may call some of the positions and stores different things and they announced big plans to cut stores over to AR and they will have demo locations with only demo devices.

I read down these threads quite deep, if you go deep enough you will be able to tell what threads were full of crap and what happened exactly as predicted.

Our ship is taking water bad, I enjoyed my many years playing on the band of this great ship and will continue to do my best..... I've got a wetsuit and scuba gear, so I'll hold out for the severance.

They haven't been filling RSC positions here either. We are running on 5 reps when we used to have 8. There are stores with one manager that used to have 1 RSM and 2 ASMs. Sign of things to come?

Also, Orange contract is up in February. That might speed some things along.

Another customer facing channel to be gutted. AR NR and COR are all in the same boat.

Any stores that are left will see a huge influx of part time staff hired to replace full timer attrition.

They have not been replacing full time rep positions either!

Q2 is what I have heard from multiple people in Dallas. But it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to squeeze everything in before everyone's kickoff meetings. They haven't been allowing ARSMs to backfill any ASM or RSM positions for the past few months.
