Here's an example, my area established new office and new team, within 1 year that team went from 20 wire techs to 7, they are even on a hiring freeze, and to top things off, managers are firing people left and right for stupid crap.....yeah our days are numbered, thanks AT&T for the experience, but your no different than any other big company, you focus only on making yourself richer while screwing your bottom employees, so off to job hunt.
There won't be a layoff until the contractors are gone.

How can they layoff prem techs when they have contractors doing our work? The minute they trained us to install DirecTV it became union work, they can't say we have no work when we have contractors all over doing our jobs. There won't be a layoff until the contractors are gone.
South Mississippi is still rolling in work, still lots of O.T. Company is still hiring Prems steadily in the SE region. Really bad good ole boy management in MANY of these locations. No surprise.
All clear early in the day as well in the Southwest. A lot of prem techs don't want to believe lay offs are coming but those will be the ones left without jobs and backup plans
