Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

They lie!

I asked the reasons. One was not enough work.

I know for a fact based on a meeting 2 weeks ago that's a lie.

The other was performance, but my evaluations were good. So there is the other lie. What is not a lie is I'm a teleworker.

What is not a lie is I work for a bunch of Persians and they had an interview with a Persian the day before I was notified.

Checking out my legal options before I sign anything. So I am sitting here waiting for my email.

Chances of finding another AT&T job are probably 0, since so many are surplussed.

Randal is having an all employee meeting and we are not able to ask questions remotely. Of course the message is all sunshine and roses.

Vpe...no it hasn't. There was a time when super talented people were tolerated because they added value. My director told our high performing team to "stay under the radar and keep your mouth shut" during our layoff call as he was making selections.

Moaning about Persians is probably what did it. Grow up.

I guess once I get interviewed by the Bobs my days are numbered.

It's not about performance as they start to roll these layoffs out - it becomes about likability and familiarity. And if you're a cultural fit. And culture not in terms of ethnicity but rather "group think".

Att loves group thinkers. It's how you make the same boring lackluster stuff year over year. Thinking alike.

I don't think the legal route is worth the pain. There are much better jobs out there.
