I suggest everyone stops running down ATT specifically in regard to job cuts. There really are no truly safe jobs hardly anywhere anymore, most especially in tech and most especially anything that pays pretty well. It's not just ATT, it's the global business climate, period. Money flows downhill to the lowest cost wages on the planet. Capital flows easily around the world now, and will continue to do so until when/if we nuke ourselves back to the stone age. Warren Buffett says that is inevitable at some point given human nature and the world's nuke supply (but he's very old and is going to die before long anyways, and will remain filthy rich until he takes his last breath). Until then, sell lots of telecom products/services, cut lots of costs, and daily feed the ever hungry profit machine to keep shareholders happy. Along the way, try to enjoy life beyond this company, because if this job is all you have in your life, you really have nothing worthwhile and you should look for something meaningful in your life. This rat race at this company and all other companies will continue onward long after we're all gone. So don't worry, be happy! La la la la, la la la la la.
