Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Don't be party to wage theft!

Since they are making SM's hourly, SM's must be hourly employees. That means you have a 30 minute lunch (unpaid and off the clock). Leave the store and don't answer any questions or help in any way or you are working for free (wage theft). If you are off the clock don't answer texts, emails or phone calls from your stores asking for help. You are no longer paid to do this since you are hourly. Don't work when not paid or you are party to them stealing your labor! Used to be paid to do a job no matter how long it takes (exempt), no longer that case, as now paid by the hour, so be sure to act like it!

I was told that the mobile Kronos app was going to be enabled for the store managers that are having to go hourly. If your alarm goes off, punch in on Kronos, go up to the school, go home when you see this it was some of that nasty sign package hanging from the ceiling is what caused it to go off, and then punch out as you go back to bed. They have to pay you. You can't do it off the clock but you have to do the right thing for the campus and your personal reputation (until you find that new fantastic job and say goodbye).

I know! I am an hourly manager and its hard to stick to 40 hours. I did get overtime when I had to travel for training and back to school. Nebraska Book had many of us as hourly.

Or do your job and bill your hours. Make them tell you to stop working overtime. Make them tell you to work off the clock. Otherwise, you've helped them cut your pay while making yourself expendable.

Wondering who is going to have to respond to alarm calls? Not me! I am off the clock!
