30% will go. And you're right... Randall did say it publicly. Let's be conservative in the numbers and do some math. Say domestic personnel makes up 150K people. 30%=45K people gone by 2020. Say 5K go by EOY 2016 = 40K to cut by 2020. That my friends is approx 12.5K people gone per year for the next 3 years. TW/DTV acquisitions will be used as justification to rationalize lowered headcount. In any event, if you have over 20 years, are in your late 40's to 50's and are near the modified rule of 75, you are ripe for the picking. If I still have a job after the 28th makes no difference, it's just a matter of time and doing the math. Personnel are never an asset, only a liability and more so than ever, we are a commodity to managed as lambs to the slaughter. Time to be relevant and skilled. Other companies will pick a lot of us up and those who don't get picked up either have no desire or are ready to retire. Good luck to all of us... we're going to need it. They're just getting warmed up.

Your info is incorrect. It is a 30% reduction. Not keep 30%.

If they are only going to need 30% of their current workforce in 2020, that should tell us there are going to be some massive layoffs for the next 3 years. Figuring we have right around 300,000 employees, we would be looking at them cutting right around 70,000 workers per year. That's a whole lot of folks.

The question is 30% to do what though? Randall can't even solidly pivot a smart strategy nor leverage good promising initiatives. I can think of two, one of which Amazon just pounced on and is killing right now. We were first, but lacked vision.

His leadership team are just as bad and part of a stale old school follow the leader culture.

I said this before, but I asked on a town hall 5 years ago about content in very specific terms with an idea I had as well..,Randall commented publically "we aren't in the content business"..those were his exact words

I was apart of the 2016 surplus and landed nicely. But there are others who are working in adjacent industries also apart of the recent surplus, who had amazing ideas "that we warent in the business to do"...they were seen as outsiders who no one got and easy surplus targets.

I know someone whose working on an article about how T missed the boat. And ended up getting rid of people they didn't understand and have gone on to thrive at high tech companies. One person went to google.

I say all that to say Randall is not an arbiter of the pivot nor what to pivot too.
