Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Even while the company fails, there is time to celebrate and party

Management wined and dined other managers and prospective clients at the Stanford v Colorado game on Saturday. It was a lovely, fully catered affair that included tickets to the game, food, wine, beer. One assumes it includes air fare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, too. Stanford Bookstore employees once again got to play step and fetch it for this annual boondoggle. Waste, waste, waste.

They have done the same thing at UGA....usually a big game where they spend a fortune on tickets, hotels, and alcohol.

Employees were expected to just grin and bare it and bow down to the higher ups that came.

It was and is a slap in the face.

Proof? I'm sorry they don't post pictures their FB page. It is an annual event. usually its at the Cal Stanford game or Stanford Notre Dame game. It's always catered. it's always expensive. It happens. I see it. They even did it fewer than two weeks after firing nearly 10% of the Stanford Bookstore staff (3 years ago).

Same at Corp.

Select few taken via a bus to a ball game, given money to spend.

Can't afford to give raises but the higher ups sure can party.
