Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Of course my last day is 9/30. If it was 10/1 or later I'd still be eligible for my bonus (which I worked my *ss off for this year). smh

I got the heads up that my 'package' from HR will be arriving on 10/3, and my last day will be 10/14. My group got a 70% budget reduction and those that are remaining are there long enough to keep the lights on until they undoubtedly are axed soon thereafter (we are part of CTO merging with Labs).

Silver linings:

1) Hearing about my section managers intent of 'having to put me in the WFR program' early gives me a chance to find a job while I still have a job

2) Being one of the first in the new rounds of WFRs as HPE continues to split, divest, sell, merge, etc. the company to pre-Compaq days means I should be able to land a position before the glut of additional WFRs hit the market

3) I no longer have to work at HPE and attempt to navigate upper management that are out of touch, under educated in technology, and disinterested in doing the right things vs. the politically aligned things.

Are bonuses for anyone a real thing at HPE?

Go work for someone who will pay you what you're worth instead of begging for scraps from Meg's table.

I'm not surprised at all. Typical HPE... Hope things work well for you soon, OP. You were forced out of this mess, and you'll see soon that it will be the best thing that could have happened to you.
