Didn't a lot of the associates in Silver Spring FSC leave the union prior to the strike? And crossed? Sounds like management knows exactly what they can get away with there.
Thats what happens when you dont stick together and have a weak a-- union reps that dont do sh--.i spent 2 days inside and saw people get walked into mngt office and no union rep to be found. If you dont fight back then... well you are getting it!
Seems like anything from questioning crazy uncompensated overtime to a note from the Doctor is a career ending decision. It's hard to give up the benefits and weeks of vacation and hard to give up the severance benefits if you leave before you are pegged. I guess the best advice I can give is if you are ready to leave, then prepare yourself before you stand up for yourself and don't get mad, threaten to quit or do anything that will get you fired. Seems like if they know you are unhappy or have a health problem you will make the next list and off you go into the world where believe it or not, there are places that treat you like a human being and you can look around the room and see many friendly American citizens. If you don't get caught up in the next RIF, then you have to think about how to get away and still get the severance benefits. Trying to plan stuff like this can make you crazy, try to look at it as a game you have to play and don't let it affect your mind or family life if you can. Our severance benefits are just now coming to an end this month and my spouse was laid off in December.
If you as a person feel guilt, exhausted, like you are personally being punished, start having issues with sleep, appetite changes, feel like there is no hope, realise this is not normal (except for centers and environments like this). See a therapist. If you need intensive outpatient therapy that will last for several weeks you can get paid up to 3 months for all but 1 week if taken consecutively. You can also gradually return to work for 1 month and get paid for hours not worked. Don't blame yourself there are various factors at work with this including work environment.
I remember at the center I was in they were suspending left and right without progressive discipline. They had QARs and the questioning was like a police criminal interrogation. Many felt isolated and afraid. Confidence and morale were low. Mental illness was high.

It is downright harassing the way they are pulling out all their stops! And now they have a camera crew coming tommorow to film and expect us to be all high and happy for them and clean our desks but give no allotted time to do so and expect you to do it before or after your shift or on break!
Then you have the one Sr manager who walks around with her mustache tattoo and then the one manager who doesn't know left from right and who was promoted by Mr Black Despicable Me No Socks Man to be a Sr. Manager
SFC as well. It's toxic!!
But won't that just make it Ashburn's problem?
If you are being intimidated or threatened by any management, file a complaint with local law enforcement. This is the only way to stop it because Verizon doesn't want to be hastled by paying employees to sit in court, not to mention the bad publicity. The managers causing problems will either be terminated or relocated.
