Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If they don't get the numbers they want in this EISP?

Anyone hear anything if they don't get a lot of takers for the 3rd quarter EISP will they offer another and more wide spread one in the 4th quarter to get people off the property before the end of year?

Picnic talk says no rifs for network ny nj ....but refuse to acknowledge rifs already happening when whole departments ie TNI get folded and automated....somehow some favored just get slid into a job never offered..hmmm.

I have given up on trying to figure out what the top management people are thinking. We are all expendable and they will find one way or another to get rid of us. The EISP would be the best being it keeps everyone's interests on the same page. For those who will be going thru suspensions or termination's just remember, you are no longer bound to the Code of Conduct. You are free to talk freely about Verizon practices.

@cu1

What you say makes sense, that's why it's not done that way.

If they offered an across the board EISP, they would have easily reached the numbers they need. Instead, atleast here in nj, they targeted specific work centers and specific titles within. So if a first liner has 2 surplused under him in location a and b, and neither employee in a or b took the EISP, the employee in location c cannot take the EISP offered to a and b, even though he/she does the same job function, under same first liner, and on same schedule. What difference does it make? 2 off the books, are 2 off the books.

It is such a shame that so many employees are hoping for an EISP. That does not boast about moral within a company. For my friends in the CSSC/FSC I do hope the company does offer one for your departments. With all the new people they are hiring I can see management going wild with suspensions and terminations once those new employees are trained and off on their own.

They have the opportunity to offer it to each department one time only every year. Does not mean they have to offer it every year. They are just able to if needed.
