This conversation is about the Indirect Channel and Account Executives who support points of distribution like Best Buy, Target, and Authorized Retailers.

I am not sure why RAEs would not qualify for severance in the event that they are surplused. California RAEs have been hourly for years and the those surplused received severance pay.

Retail Account Executive...responsible for supporting our indirect retail partners (dealers and national retail).

Losing a COU phone to budget cuts is BS. The only cost to the company is the upfront cost of the device. There is no recurring charge for service each month. The only way the department is charged is if you are purchasing things that can be billed to account.

Retail / National Account Executive- Mobility / Entertainment Group. This is basically the end of our organization as they continue to eliminate our responsibilities. With such a reduction in the amount of support we are providing our partners now and in the future the writing is on the wall. Made it out of the last surplus but now it is worse than ever. Leadership still pushing for metric results but that is nothing more than a statistic to wrap up one of our worst years in wireless. The notion that DTV customers would rush and sign up for T never happened and never will, The "walk out watching" was a dismal flop. Now comes more staff reduction as the only way to save face.

I lost my COU about 2 yrs ago. Everything now routes through my Skype business phone and is then fwd to my personal cell.

We lost ours to budget cuts.

Keep in mind the company is aware people will stop answering their phone if they are "off the clock" so you better bet that all those jobs will be cut next and given to an outside company like marketsource or whatever. The company is reducing the need for so many hands to benefit them. It will not benefit you. If you (AE's) don't answer your phone that's fine, but you won't have that COU much longer if things continue the way they are going.

Great...now our paychecks will blow even more...lost sales because we can't answer our phone.

Moving AEs to hourly is BS. I take calls and help with issues from about 9AM to 9PM. If I'm hourly, my phone goes on silent and that sh-- doesn't get touched until 9 the next morning. My personal time will now truly be my personal time.

Told today that AE's are going to hourly and will no longer have a salary. No movement of commission to base salary for indirect. They are changing ATTR managers and assistant managers pay and moving some commission to base to get around the new law.

Not sure how this will work for indirect. Our stores and customers will suffer if we can't even answer our phone if we are out of hours.

It's not just RAE, applies to cor mgrs too, base pay going up, comp going down, on even level..this is fact. If you overachieve on comp you'll lose out, if you don't hit your numbers then you'll be pretty much even, I'm guessing soon everyone will be exempt so as to not have to pay OT. If you make under the limit for new law expect to be above it, whatever you gain in base, you lose in at risk.

*Overtime Laws are changing. Maybe they will change how RAEs are paid.
