Look at the history of the bell system. It was at one point a wonderful place to work! Then there was the breakup. The first company from that break up to eat their own was Att (long distance). They were first with massive layoffs, going so far as to have you retire on Friday and return back to work on Monday as a contractor (like you had a choice). Next was the what has still infected the industry today, the so called mergers done by the king of layoffs SBC. Look at every company they have brought or so called merged with and you will notice the disturbing trend of major job loss!! PAC-bell, Ameritech, Bell South etc(research this), to present day Direct TV. The only company that has escaped their axe was T-Mobile and you can thank the government for that. They came full circle and brought Att long distance and changed their name to ATT. Now the same hatchet process that started this industry trend by ATT long distance, is being done by SBC under the name of,,,,, that's right class it's ATT who is really SBC!!!

They have killed the telephone industry and no longer want to know as a telecom company but want to be unregulated media and internet provider(controllers) without competition. If they treat their employees this way what do you think they will do to the customers? Wait and see they are lobbing congress as we sleep!!!

Divide and conquer ...it's strategic at least. It takes the focus of the issues at hand.

It wouldn't surprise me if some level of leadership was causing the mayhem to divert the attention from the work that isn't being done, the things that aren't being made, the infighting.

@1gnz...thank you for saying. The dynamic of people turning against each other is what's happening offline too. It's symptomatic of horrific culture of poor management, little to innovation and leadership who pretends none of this is happening.

Randall associates no ROI with good culture and since positive culture can't be measured or turned into a used car to sell to the shareholders.

Here we are turning on one another.

I suspect we are seeing management lackeys trying to sow conflict here between employees.

Everyone who has any time with T understands the problems the ex-DTV folks are facing and can sympathize,

The problem is T management not your co-worker.

Well if that's how you feel here's a comment for you. DIRECTV was a great place to work, integrity was number one as well employee satisfaction. Since ATT took over we have seen a need for unions, cuts in benefits and overall pay crappy shifts, layoffs and putting up with ATT flipping accounts for a commission.

ATT customer service s---s

I have never seen a company nor employees act the way ATT and their employees act.
