The mood in El Segundo is horrible and probably other places. One executive will say everything is shaping up, but the company must go through short term pain to be better positioned. Others tell us it's an uncertain road ahead and it is wise to get the resume in order and be proactively looking for other opportunities. It's been a train wreck since last October. As a b-band staff manager in the new class system I'm a cog in the wheel, but it doesn't really seem like we have strong leadership in higher management steering our new organization, or a cohesive strategy. My C band is in Atlanta and I have never met the person. I like my peers I've met on conference calls in other locations, but it's like you work at T today but might be gone tomorrow. It been difficult to be in different time zones and have different practices and no one to really lead and integrate at the team level. One year after merger and it is horrible. It so frustrating. We were such a good company. I wasn't cut this week, but others were and it makes the rest of us so frustrated. Good luck to all.

Come on, don't lie ! DTV was a great company before 2004. After that, it was like a torture chamber, a morgue with incompetent zombie management waiting to be buried. If AT&T did not buy it, it would be dead a horrible death worse than it is now.

Don't blame AT&T, they do what need to be done a long time ago. It's DTV management who sold you out due to their incompetence, greed and idiocy.

unlimited vacation, 12 holidays a year, great pay, and fun. i went back to corporate a few weeks back and it was like a morgue. its sad what its become
as far as the packages, yes i have friends who were given a year to leave. they were also given a high end staffing agency to help them find another job. pretty classy.
DTV was the best company ive ever worked for. those days are gone.
I know a guy who has been in corporate staffing for 30 years and when i told him AT&T bought us, he said its basically like working for the government. hes been spot on!
The atmosphere at El Segundo is the worst I have ever seen it. Initially, there was enthusiasm. Not anymore.

I have heard (and I know this sounds insane) that for DTV it's 1yr salary. However that certainly doesn't coincide with what one stop lists (8 weeks pay + 1 week per year of service).
If you don't mind getting your nose muddy, you'll be just fine. Maybe be one day you will be able to speak up and be heard and trust it won't be held against you.

I know. I was not cut; however, we are to expect more layoffs. They bullshitted many of us. The merger will bring many more opportunities for growth...just continue to perform. Then we hear those selected were not selected based on performance but some magical/ mythical formula to which none of us are privy. Nothing but numbers
