Central Territory had 4 seasoned NR SMs. As of reorg there is one of those left plus An open position for a DM that was let go.
Similar situation with the local sales team. Only one DM left. With other job opening posted now.
Can't even explain the customer facing account managers that are now gone. Many of them are multiple protected classes. Who is protecting them?
@2tar - yes, because the union associates have it soo good. lets not mention that they are harassed to account for every minute of their day, pulled into investigatories constantly, and have an overall adversarial "us vs them" relationship with vz. great culture.
For all of you laid off employees that have 6 years or more. Voting in the union 6 years ago would have made sense wouldn't it
I know most of us have been with this company for a very long time (9+years ) and although what they have done to all of us is not right, we will be in the long run, better off. Can any of us really say we were truly happy working for Verizon? A company that doesn't value it's best employees. Where you exist merely to live to work and not work to live? Can any of us say we truly felt fufilled? The answer for most of us, if not all of us, is no. You can't always choose the things that happen to you in life, but you can choose how you react to them. I know right now that you think this happened TO you, but know that this happened FOR you! I say all this not because I didn't need the money or because I have a significant other to rely on, which at the moment, I don't have. I say this because I know there is someone who needs to see it. Someone who need's to know that this is a blessing not a cusre.
I encourage all of you to use this opportunity you have been given to your advantage. Take this time to focus on what you really want and go after it. Change what seems at the moment to be a negative into a positive. Life is too short. We have all been given a second chance at a better life beyond Verizon.

Last man there and was moved to another ofc with three people. What a disaster of a company ! Working us like dogs with no hiring for over a dozen years . People provide for families and do what they need to do . I am ready to be riffed after the gut wrenching be at your phone at 11am and if you get a call kiss your A$$ goodbye !
OS for 9 years. Laid off ad of Nov. 4th. Not sure who is going to cover ALL the stuff I do all day, but apparently it's just stuff that doesn't need attention any longer. You know, like having phones ready for sale, the floor looking nice and stuff priced right. No, there is no need for that in a store!! Whatever. Good luck without me VZW.
I'm so sad to see this. My spouse was laid off in December. Put out to pasture in favor of workers from India. Even though he found another position, it took a few months for the layoff to play out and new job to start. It was kind of tense here. I finally found a blogger who had been a whiz kid at Microsoft who explained depression caused by being laid off by these corporate giants. Doesn't matter if you find something right away, there is still that angry sadness in your gut that you have given everything only to be put out with the trash because you cost too much or have too much vacation or whatever is in that un-American layoff formula. Stay strong, keep busy and use whatever help they are offering. They really did have some good ideas on tweaking your resume.
I'm so sorry to all of you who were impacted. I was RIF'd on 12/15 and know all too well the betrayal and rejection you feel. Give yourselves time to grieve and then move on. There is life after VZW.
As an OS I've worked very hard to be a productive member of the business. I've worked on special projects for the business and enterprise. I have created spreadsheets to help my managers find deficiencies, instructions to simplify things for customers, and other things that (if I talked about here) would pinpoint me pretty easily and probably cost me my severance. I handled canvas, reporting, store access & security, maintenance, and was the subject matter expert for my district for merchandising, inventory and systems (screw FlexFlow BTW). Many of the things that are only supposed to be handled by a manager were passed off to me because I volunteered, repeatedly, and valued my job. I came in early every day, and usually stayed late to make sure everything was done. After years of service, and surviving two previous rounds of layoffs they finally are getting rid of me. I never drank the kool aid. I fought back and tried to have intelligent discussions with management up through the chain to enact change that would have saved the company the money they'll save now in downsizing their experienced workforce. Honestly, the people I really feel for are the land line people with the contract. If 5G speeds are anything near what is being talked about, when that contract is up they're going to lay off people again, but those people are 'overqualified'. Good luck everyone. I'm going to finish my degree and try to get a government job so I never have to live through this again.
Our store had 4 ES's and 1 OS. 2 were let go, 1 sent to another location and 1 ES and the 1 OS remain as the RSS'. Anyone know how they chose who stayed?
I started as a csr when verizon was starting out in the miinky area. Now after 12 years I'm being let go. I'm still in shock at the news.
Os - operations specialist- handled retail inventory and retail merchandising
Es- experience specialist - handled customer experience , wireless workshops , troubleshooting customers etc.
OS 6 years . Ny metro area .
For all you scabs that came and did our jobs while we were on strike and got laid off... GOOD
what is ES or OS what type of position
Are all these layoffs in the wireless retail stores? Im a foreman in Network Landlines and know my day will come.
A lot of people in california got laid off. I came from San Diego and changed roles from SS to OS last year. I recently got promoted to manager as recently as last week, I was told today was my last day in store. I called my friends still in San Diego, I have heard almost everyone from my old district was laid off, including some who had been with the company for over a decade.
Same here I was with the company for 14 years. I'm an OS and was let go today . I even helped out on the East Coast during the strike . What a stab in the back .
ES, 6 years, getting laid off with the option to APPLY for a sales position. I really don't know how they can justify this. I hope this blows up in their face big time.

It's true. Been with the company 14 years and I was let go today. I was a ES but previously manager for 7 years. The company does t give a f**k about employees anymore. Good luck to all.
