Got word that B2B, Retail management, Experience and Operations specialists getting notices today. Indirect and call centers getting hit soon if not today. VZW is getting destroyed. Most stores will be affected and a lot of managers will be let go. I hope this does not turn out to be true but everything I've been told and overheard recently is turning out to be true.

Any updates on National Retail?
Verizon Wireless does not give two sh--s about their employees. I work in a retail location as an OS, well not for long now. It's an absolute joke that they think this move will work in their favor. I KNOW a lot of people that are angry and it's not just the people that are being laid off. Also, hearing that the HR rep that was in on the one on one conversations was actually SMILING while people were being talked to, makes my blood boil. The stores are going to fall apart without all those support rolls.
@1pgn, I got news for your buddy, Verizon has become the inferior company. I switched my family's service to T-Mobile and will never look back. Unlimited everything for $120 less per month and the service is BETTER. Stop believing everything Verizon is telling you. Whenever a company stops listening to it's customers, the end result will always be the same. FAILURE!
@JJdDYZk-1pgn wipe the jizz off your face you c-suite troll!
What happened today and will happen tomorrow are the continuation from restructures last October. Retail and National Retail hit hard. Big Red strategically spending lots of money lately to buy companies to gain content rights for future moves. Unfortunately this has caused a lot of debt which ultimately leads to layoffs. The wireless industry has been turned upside down with inferior companies dropping their drawers to gain customers only to see them exit quickly out the back door. Verizon continues to invest in network and try to balance incredible employee benefits / pay and consumer demands. After 25 years I have had to say goodbye to longtime coworkers and wish them well. Big Red is not what it use to be from an employment standpoint but consumer demands on the industry require cuts to stay at the top and build for the future. Many coworkers end up at competitors working for half the pay and frustrated just like their customers. As consumers want more for less .... Companies have to react in the same manner ..... Do more with less or go under. Consumers should remember this when they get frustrated over long wait times in stores and when calling in .... People can only do so much.
I didn't hear an announcement for national indirect, but I know people in that org got hit hard today.
Did they announce the new structure for national indirect?
National indirect, culled the DM position in my legacy area from 5 to 2. Does not appear that local indirect were impacted.
It is time to organize join your co workers who organized in Brooklyn, Network, and Everett, MA only way to fight corp greed. Divided we beg united we bargain.
Wow right before the holiday season. I guess the executives don't want these stores to succeed, leaving them shorthanded for the busy shopping season makes no sense.
The rumors are TRUE. I was a ES. Been with the company for 14 years. Was even a manager for 7 years. Let go today. No loyalty.
Some OS were retained and are being put into some type of hybrid position.
Those who were "laid off" were notified via phone message. Effective immediately.
11/4 is the last day for ES and OS in stores. Nationwide

1441 and no replies? Amazing.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Retail management was only floating managers Riffed. ops and experience was not a total culling, they kept atleast 2 per location. Haven't heard what changes took place in B2B
Won't believe it until I see it. Lots of peeps stirring up rumors on here lately it seems.
Any word on if anything happened today? What centers are impacted?
1215 views and silence....AMAZING. Well I'll chime in and say I have not heard anything yet. Although I too have heard something is going down today in retail. Good luck to all those impacted if that is the case. VZ cares not about people as anything other than a number.
Completely false on the management layoffs
This is unfortunately true. After 10 years in the retail channel I was given a notice today.
Not sure how much is happening, but it is happening. Got my notice today as a manager in a retail store.
What's happening to Indirect? Is it National Retail or locals?
Wow, any word on if this happened yet? How many impacted? Which call centers are getting hit?
Anyone on here been impacted?
I'll believe it when it happens . Realistically I can see some stores getting hit with the new smart store designs . Less staff in sales is needed. Especially with in store pickup available and working properly . As far as Management is concerned I can see some mid levels and directors being condensed and consolidated . This time of year the rumors really start flying . If you work for the company and are in sales outside of a store I wouldn't be too worried . They tend to a year clear of positions that help the positive cash flow in
