Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

So much for WF2020

So much for WF2020 where ATT claimed they needed to retrain people because they could not hire them. On top of that, just a few weeks ago some contractors were converted to employee, and those folks and other new hires are protected. As far as I know there is no package.

I wasn't offered one, but then I do not meet the rule of 75 either. I suspect I was put on the block because I am stuck as a work from home. The 60 days is a joke if the layoffs are across the board, because no one will be hiring. The only thing that is going to save me is volunteers. I know those eligible for retirement didn't get the surplus notice.

iI would not be so sure, as the previous comment affirmed, odd that 40% of of group was layoff, the older and most senior professionals with 23+ years of service , the young, inexperienced and new employees remained, no one was left to fill the void created, BAU,

Not true. Retirement eligibility did not factor. This is across the board cuts and is effecting most BU's. Sorry to hear of your predicament. If you don't have enough seniority, there aren't few options. Good luck because this is just the beginning.
