Man I wished I was getting 45 to run a strand. They got the prems taking in everyone else work who's been fired expected to learn and master it. While knowing in next 2 years probably won't be anything there. This s---s started here at 20 3 years ago because this used to be a company people dreamed of being in. Taken courses and classes to advance just to Probably be let go IN NEXT YEAR OR so by someone taking my position

Yes, our DTV team has been instructed to design, plan, and implement full automation on whichever department is on the list. Doing so is difficult to say the least but more so when the managers in charge are horrible people.

I come in on Monday's and dread having to be part of this scene but like all good toadies perform as instructed.

Most of these managers are nothing but over paid secretaries that don't much anyway.

You can automate constant repeatable action i.e. Clearing disk space, restarting process that dropped. Automating non reportable action will require a learning system. Ask IBM how long it took to build Dr Watson. Good luck in automating complex operations :).

"@uop: if you think I can't automate your job you're sorely mistaken. 2 terms: RPA and ML. The company is developing a lot of systems both physical and non to replace humans."

Sure, huh ??

Please automate your system to verify HD video quality to industry standard. Please explain, if you can. LOL

@ubl I've got no problem with automation and efficiencies. I encourage it! You being too stupid to know what I do still stands. Not from a perspective that you cannot automate what I do, just that you're an idiot for not knowing what your people do.

@fzs: I said automate not contract out. The software I have access to will run circles around what you do every day. Sad but true. Anything that I can't will be contracted out or given to another workgroup but 85% of job functions I've found can be automated.

@cdc . . . by hiring five contractors that you'll have to train because I'm too stupid to know what you do.
