Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Try to Influence Change Wherever You Are - Always

So sorry to those who will be or have been forced out.

It isn't your fault if you didn't challenge the system and were placed on a struggling asset, on dog projects, or under a limiting supervisor.

Unfortunately employee productivity is being blamed for the financial struggles, i.e., not successfully executing the plan, rather than dealing with that the plan hasn't been that great.

Otherwise we'd see more executives laid off too (not just old guys retiring). Some hard life lessons to learn.

Hopefully, whether you are in or out, this mess will motivate us to try and influence change and not just fester bitterness.

Good post. Completely agree. Don't stew in your bad fortunes or become bitter.

Just not worth it.

I am very surprised that Randy hasn't been pushed out. Just solidifies my belief that he is the slick used car salesman that everyone who reports to him knows that he is. The problem is unless you're a 4th level or above when you get laid off it can be financially devistating. For those who are 4th level or above they'll get a golden handshake and attaboy when they depart.
