DirecTV: The end of an era

I wrote a white paper 9 years ago sounding the alarm and send to DirecTV management.

I urged them to move to streaming and combining satellite delivery with streaming. They ignored my paper for they were busy milking the company to enrich themselves. They awarded to themselves stock options, got rid of talented engineers to bring in their friends/family members with no skills whatsoever. Then they borrowed money to buy back their own stocks to probe up price, so that they could exercise their options at inflated price.

In short, DirecTV management ruined the company and let employees hanged to dry !

Mike White came in with every intention to sell the company. By design and greed.

I don't think they ignored your white paper. Remember, DTV tried--and almost got it--to purchase Hulu.

The rumor is Comcast mucked that whole deal up.

After that deal went though, most of us in leadership knew that a sale to a Telco was imminent.

It would be very interesting to read the real plans for the company, not the happy BS.

Is there a threshold for the outsourcing, or does everything eventually get moved off shore?

Is there more to the plans for DTV or is this just another monumental screw up by Randall and cronies?

The DTV got tricked, deceived and duped, at best, AT&T fooled all these people into believing that DTV was a successful company, not only they mislead, people inside AT&T to encourage them to move across companies , but they deluded the fact that this was planned from the start, kudos to the AT&T's actors that created this incredible ruse, that is the true nature of this corporation,... Next ....time warner / CBS
