AVP position being eliminated by 2Q2017

I overheard a couple people (not sure who they were) in one of the shared spaces today at Akard speaking about eliminating the AVP position across the company by the end of June 2017.

It is just a title change to make all PG 4 titles the same.

Wow imagine that, laying off the tremendously overpaid folks that don't really do much, or know what is going on, instead of L1 and 2 managers in the trenches...? What a novel idea.

It's an alignment with the Executive Director title, same as other posts here on title changes, Prob cap salary at a lower rate take some benefits for new Executive Directors, expand role, cut cost, wonder why its not working, rinse repeat

DirecTV had more AVP/VP/directors/managers than regular employees ! Talking about top-heavy.

AT&T could cut 4/5 of them with without affecting a thing.

They should eliminate not only AVPs but Associate Directors and replace them with good executive secretaries.

Now that's interesting. Att is about as top heavy as it gets. And it's fair to start pairing at both ends.
