Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Production Support reorganization within Technology Development

PS reorg is underway and will be completed most likely this month. There is nothing new here. PS will be moving toward a more DevOps model where automation will become more important in the years to come. Not sure how many will be laid off if any but I hear VPs are looking to cut head counts.

I work in Retail Support. We have already been stripped to 2 employees to support many aspects of the retail environment. The jobs have been given to Indians offshore, and they are horrible. They cannot do anything and the workload is being pushed to the only employees who seem to care. And Managements answer is "it is what it is" and you are lucky to have a job. It really is a sad situation. Just very sad.

For supposedly a high tech company as they claim to be, AT&T is really clueless in regard to these maters.

Definitely the industry direction, hard to believe the AT&T management will be able to deliver with a bare bones, extremely unhappy workforce.

They still act like they are breaking new ground trying to copy things Amazon did 20 years ago.
