I heard that within ATO, the actual directors do not like their managers to have an Senior Technical Director title so it is being changed to Associate Director very soon.

Title change usually means a pay cut is soon to follow.
Our company is bloated with incompetence, lean up management to the bone, and you will have a successful company
AT&T would just strip off their title to something like managers.
As mentioned earlier, the ex-DTV had more directors than regular employees ! That's inflation of title.
