@J957fuo-1vab, absolutely correct, once you sign "for the severance money" , that is it. No such thing as in the past "you had to sign under duress" , VZ's internal and external Legal Eagles wont get burned by that again (as in Bell Atlantic days)..People who do file are responsible for paying all legal costs , lawyers are expensive..especially when you are unemployed waiting for a judgement which could be YEARS away.

It is no secret that this and others ompanies fire older employees, under the ppretense or reorganiztion, But if you want that severance pay, you must sign away your rights to sue. That’s how it’s made legal.

you can still file a complaint with your local EEOC. I was laid off last year and I filed one.

I fit in there as well, but Vz covers themselves really well when they do the layoffs. They provide a document of age demographics for the people being laid off, plus the severance agreement prevents you from suing.

Very interesting. My guy certainly fits that demographic, throw H1B in the mix as well. How these people look themselves in the mirror every morning is a mystery to me.
