As everyone knows tomorrow is the last day for those surplussed on May 22, 2016. For those affected I hope you know that many of us have had you in our thoughts and prayers. Words cannot explain the horror, dismay and disgust we feel toward the company when so many of you have spent your entire adult life working for this company. You have put your heart and soul's into what you thought was a career and now many of you in your 50's and 60's are losing your jobs. It is just unbelievable all the people who are losing their jobs this surplus round that have 15-39 years of service. Of those that I have talked to they have applied for many positions, but have not had a single interview. Very, very sad....

Nobody was concerned about the people whom were surplussed. People we trusted and put up good results for lied to our faces repeatedly. And folks, don't think for a second that some evil giant behind a green curtain decided whom was being cut. It was your local Director regardless of all the lies you heard.
For the remaining RAE's, they're miserable. The work load is 7 days a week while knowing the position has both feet on banana peels for the future. The cuts will not stop, mark your calendars for the 1st Qtr of 2017.......at&t bought an outdated lemon with DTV. Every month they don't hit aggressive goals the more panic will set in. NEWSFLASH: Millennials don't even watch TV.....they get all info from the internet, youtube and Netflix. Future growth plan? I hope AT&T goes down in flames.
Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many "if any" got a job within!!! So sad that AT&T can't/won't take care of their own.....

It's also quite sad that the notion of the company placing us during this time was all a sham. No jobs opened up and the few that posted were all given to people in back room deals. So disappointed in the entire AT&T management and how this process was handled. I'm sure you all noticed that during this time your emails stopped and we were basically put out to pasture. Look for internal jobs to post starting next week after this surplus is completed. Word of round 2 in Q4 for more surplus activity. They bought off more than expected with the direcTV acquisition. How a few people left will do the jobs of many remains a mystery. Good luck to all!
